Dear Sister & Brother Officers,

2008 Membership Drive

Our membership drive for 2008 is now underway. Membership is open to all present and former C.O.s and S.C.O.s, active or retired. Join and be part of the fastest growing, most all-inclusive Court Officer organization in New York State. Dues are still just $15. Members this year receive new member cards, decals, a carabiner & mini shield. Please find your 2008 application on back of page 3, and kindly return to us by December 15, 2007.

Past Year in Review

2007 has been a very active year. Our Seventeenth Anniversary Dinner-Dance was a great success. Our Second Annual Pistol Competition took place over two weeks in October. Our second Annual Golf Outing was held September 10th and was enjoyed by a sellout crowd from the courthouse community. Our Third Annual Teddy Bear Drive collected over 700 teddy bears for hospitalized and less fortunate children; and our Fourth Annual Holiday Raffle enabled us to continue to help the children of our slain Brother & Sister Officers.

2007 10-13 Updates

Our membership again responded generously to Officers in need. We are proud to have assisted with a fundraiser for the family of Westchester S.C.O. Robert Pezzullo.

Thanks to the hard work of Webmaster Gregory Piccolo, our website has been revitalized. Check it out to see what we have been doing, and to download various forms or information.

Our Objectives

Our objectives remain as in the beginning; to promote fraternal spirit among our members, to champion the causes that will benefit members and all New York State Court Officers, and to be there for members in times of need (10-13s).

Holiday Raffle – The Steward & Rosa Children

The primary goal of our Fifth Annual Holiday Raffle is to raise $1,000 each for the children of slain Court Officers Brenda Steward and Francisco Rosa III for the holidays. If each member was to sell or buy just two tickets, we would reach goal. For raffles, or to help with sales in your Command, please call me at (516) 808-7009.

Our Tradition of Holiday Giving

The money raised by our holiday raffle also enables us to help less fortunate children and families in New York State. We proudly sponsor the following organizations:

- Pat Cairo Foundation

- Little Flower Orphanage (Suffolk County)

- Mary Brennan Interfaith Soup Kitchen (Nassau County)

- Blythedale Children’s Hospital (Westchester County)

We are proud to say that since our first underprivileged children’s party, we have raised over $67,000 for charitable causes (excluding 10-13s). Special thanks go to C.O. Mike Riveiro for running our candy desk, as well as everyone making our Holiday Raffle successful.

Our All-Star Team

Our Membership

The ability of our membership to respond quickly and generously to officers in need has enhanced our reputation throughout New York State and has established a model for other organizations to follow. We take great pride in our members and all the good they have accomplished throughout our history. With our membership as our greatest resource, there are no obstacles that we can’t overcome.

Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meetings take place on the first Wednesday payday of the months September thru May at 6 PM at Spumante’s Restaurant. Please check our website for directions and any date changes.

¨ Holiday Party ¨

Our annual Holiday Party will take place on December 12, 2007 from 6 – 8 PM at City Café on Stewart Avenue in Garden City, Nassau County. Our special Holiday Raffle will be drawn on this night. The Grand Prize is $5,000 and the party is free to all 2007 paid members-in-good-standing. We hope to see you, raise a cup of cheer, and sell out all our tickets! Remember, these tickets offset the cost of this event, give us our donations for the Court Officers’ children and supplement our charitable giving. Tickets are $10.00 each and have been distributed to most Command Team Leaders already. Please call me if you want a pack of tickets to sell on your own, and remember, the seller of the Holiday Raffle Grand Prizewinning ticket will receive $500!

In Remembrance

As always, we strive to hold our heads high in honor of our Brothers who gave their lives so that others may live. Let our actions honor the memory of S.C.O. Mitch Wallace, S.C.O. Tommy Jurgens and Captain Harry Thompson.

Yours Fraternally,

Joseph Cannella

P.S. Our Eighteenth Annual Dinner-Dance will be held on Friday April 4, 2008 at the Swan Club in Glen Head, New York.
