Nassau County District Court
Officers Gary Diesel and Gregory Gerner saved residents
from a burning Hempstead apartment complex.
The Officers saw the blaze from their patrol car and
immediately sprung into action by scaling a fence and then climbing up a fire
escape to save an infant trapped in the apartment. The two heroes continued to
evacuate the building along with other responding police and fire fighters.
