On
Thursday, June 29th, Court Officers from the Kew Gardens,
Queens Court Complex held a fund-raiser softball game and BBQ at Queens’
Cunningham Park.
The
friendly rivalry pitted the S.C.O. team – The Misfits against the U.C.O.
team – The Eighteens, and was attended by about 100 people.
The
event’s proceeds benefited Seamus McWeeney, son of Queens S.C.O./NYS
Courts Piper Dan McWeeney. Seamus was born in February of this year
with a cleft palate, and the multiple corrective surgeries are not fully
covered by insurance.
F.O.C.O. contributed to this event by
selling raffle tickets for a group of four to attend the August 30th
L.I. Ducks baseball game in the stadium’s Luxury Suite. Our efforts
raised $1,700 of the total $3,500 donated at this event.
