Our limited 10-13 raffle to help Sister Officer Sue Gerner was a great success.

Thanks to the generosity of the courthouse community and the hard work of our team leaders, we were able to raise $5,000 to help our Sister Court Officer, Sue Gerner.  Sue is a recent graduate of the Court Officers’ Academy who is battling cancer.  She is the mother of four young children and the wife of C.O. Greg Gerner, who was honored by this organization at our 2005 Dinner-Dance for his heroic rescue of several families from a burning building near his Hempstead District Court Command.

We limited our raffle sales to Queens and Nassau, the two counties in which the Gerners work; and thanks to the hard work of our team leaders, at the April 22nd Fundraiser we were able to give C.O. Doug Stephens a check in the amount of $5,000 for the Gerner family.  The event, which was extremely well organized, was a great success.

Also, congratulations to everyone at Nassau District Court for an excellent event.

The F.O.C.O. Raffle Winners were:

Nassau Supreme S.C.O. Ed Lagan – the Xbox 360

Nassau Supreme Court Assistant C. Tompkins – the I pod
